The Ascent of Money Documentary – History of Money, Credit and Banking

The Ascent of Money: A Financial History of the World is Harvard professor Niall Ferguson’s tenth book, published in 2008. It was adapted into a television documentary for Channel 4 (UK) and PBS (US). The financial documentary examines the long history of money, credit, and banking, along with the benefits and problems various systems have produced.

The documentary is broken up into 6 parts, each about 45 minutes. The first is Dreams of Avarice, followed by Human Bondage, Blowing Bubbles, Risky Business, Safe as Houses and Chimerca.
